Monthly Crystals Class with Koz: Crystals with Flash

The June crystal class focuses on stones with labradorescence or adularescence. Learn more about labradorite, moonstone, and larvikite, and how to use them. Dr. Michele Lee Kozimor (Ph.D., RMT) will teach about the crystal properties, meaning, uses, sourcing and cleaning. All participants will be given a set of crystals to take home. Snacks and tea will be provided. Additional crystals will also be available for purchase. Cost is $20 per class if you pre-register (to guarantee your space & materials) or $25 at the door (pending available space & materials).

Restorative Resonance: restorative yoga class with live cello

Join us for an hour of bliss in a sanctuary of atmospheric sound. Stella Heysek is a 16 year old sophomore at Capital Area School for the Arts. She is a Music major with a focus on cello. Stella wants to pursue a career in music therapy and sound meditation to create music in a way that heals others. Cost is $25. Pre-registration on the Lorenzen Studios event calendar is required. Please wear warm layers of clothing and bring a yoga or exercise mat, a yoga bolster, a small pillow, 2 yoga blocks, an eye pillow or towel to cover your eyes, and a cozy blanket.

Reiki Level 1 Training

Learn the basics and history of Usui Ryoho Reiki in a one day training with Dr. Michele Lee Kozimor who is a Reiki Master Teacher. During the hands on workshop, participants will receive training materials, personalized instruction, and a certificate indicating completion of level 1.

Japanese Bound Sketchbook Workshop

Make your own handbound sketchbook at Lorenzen Studios and then use it to dream big!

Naomi Spahr has been teaching art at Hershey High School now for 19 years. Naomi went to Moravian College for her Bachelor of Art in Art Education, completed a great variety of graduate credits at the University of the Arts, and the!n finished her MFA in Studio Art at Moore College in 2015. 

Naomi became inspired to make art from her grandmother, Jeannine Brought, who owns an arts and crafts shop near Lewistown, PA.  Naomi continues to gain inspiration from her grandmother, childhood memories overall and from the natural world around us.  Recently her work has been centered around botanical drawings and paintings, specifically Pennsylvania native wildflowers, plants and trees. 

She lived and worked in Japan from 2005-2007, hence the inspiration and knowledge to teach the Japanese Bound Sketchbook Workshop on July 11th at Lorenzen Yoga Studios, where she is very much enjoying her new found yoga community!

Japanese Tea Ceremony

The Japanese tea ceremony, known as sado or chado, is a traditional Japanese ritual for preparing powdered green tea (matcha) with various prescribed steps and procedures. This program briefly provides a historical overview of the Japanese tea ceremony and demonstrates one of its simpler procedures, offering a glimpse into the tea ceremony experience. Cost is $25. A native of Japan, Dr. Nobuaki Takahashi is an Associate Professor of Japanese. He received his B.A. in English from Kanda University of International Studies, M.A. in Asian Civilization with a specialization in Japanese Language Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, and Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Iowa. He currently teaches a various levels of Japanese language courses.

Monthly Crystal Class with Koz: Luck and Abundance in March

Join us for the first class of our monthly crystal class series! For March this one-hour class will focus on stones traditionally used for luck and abundance. Dr. Michele Lee Kozimor (Ph.D., RMT) will teach about the crystal properties, meaning, uses, sourcing and cleaning. All participants will be given a set of green or gold crystals to take home. Additional crystals will also be available for purchase. Snacks and tea will be provided. Join us for a relaxing evening! Special Note: Complete any 3 monthly crystal classes and receive a selenite crystal grid and center stone to put your crystals from the classes on. Join us the third Friday of each month to learn more about a group of crystals. Yoga & Reiki

Join us for a 1-hour Go with the Flow vinyasa yoga class taught by Dr. Charla Lorenzen (Ph.D., E-RYT 500), followed by a 30-minute reiki experience led by Dr. Michele Kozimor (Ph.D., RMT) in which all participants can receive reiki if desired and learn about its benefits. Dr. Michele Lee Kozimor has been a Usui Reiki Master Teacher in the Western tradition (Usui Shiki Ryoho) since 2014. She studied under the guidance of Reiki Master Healer Teacher Kate Pruiett. Michele is also an award-winning professor of sociology at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. According to Michele, reiki uniquely combines her metaphysical gifts, teaching skills, and scientific training. Michele specializes in reiki for horses and has personally used reiki to help both of her horses heal from injury and illness (including episodes of laminitis). She has also used reiki on her cats.
